Jawa to begin deliveries of its motorcycles this month in India

As per some dealerships, Jawa will begin deliveries of Jawa Classic and Forty Two models from this month

Jawa officially announced its entry in the Indian market in November 2018 and the company is opening 105 dealerships across the country in the initial phase. The Czech manufacturer has already crossed the 50 dealerships milestone in quick time and they are planning to open the next 55 dealerships in coming months.

Once the initial target of dealerships is achieved, the company will begin deliveries of Jawa and Forty Two. According to some dealerships, the deliveries will begin this month onwards and the company already has a huge backlog, which will take some time to clear. The booking for the Jawa and Forty Two started back in November.

Due to the overwhelming response, the company had to stop bookings for the motorcycles on December 25 and both these bikes were sold out till September. Even though online bookings have been closed, dealerships are accepting bookings but the delivery of these motorcycles will begin only after September as they will give priority for customers who booked till December 25.

The Jawa and Forty Two initially come with single channel ABS system. Then the company introduced the rear disc variant with dual channel ABS system in December and it is priced at a premium of Rs. 8,942 over the regular model. The company is also giving the option for customers who have booked single-channel ABS variant to change their bookings to dual-channel ABS variant without any price hike.

But the delivery of dual-channel ABS model will commence only in June 2019. Classic Legends have tied up with multiple banks to offer class-leading finance scheme for customers, which will make it easier for customers to own their dreams machines. The company has partnered with Mahindra First Choice Wheels to exchange to old bikes for new Jawa bikes.

Both Jawa and Forty Two are powered by 293 cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine producing 27 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the engineers have tuned the engine for excellent mid-range punch. Jawa Forty Two price starts at Rs. 1.55 lakh and Rs. 1.64 lakh for Jawa (both price Ex-Showroom).
