Good news for all the bike lovers! If you always fancied riding a two wheeler instead of four, then this news will surely give you a reason to celebrate. India's one of the most celebrated motorcycle brand, Jawa is back with two new variants- Jawa and Jawa Forty Two. The Jawa will cost Rs 1.64 lakh, while the Forty Two will retail for Rs 1.55 lakh. Bookings have begun online today, 15 November on jawamotorcycles.com.

It is interesting to note that the bike brand is back in business after 22 long years.

The Jawa will be available in three colours, black, maroon and grey. The Forty Two will have six colour options. The original Jawa retains its iconic tool box while the Forty Two gets an offset instrument pod with tiny digital display and fuel gauge and flat handlebar. The operations of this motorcycle were closed way back in 1996. One of the largest automobile conglomerates, Mahindra and Mahindra acquired the brand license in 2016 to produce and sell Jawa motorcycles again in India. The deliveries of the two bikes will begin in 2019 and these will be manufactured in Pitampur near Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

Head of these classic legends, Ashish Joshi mentioned that engine boasts a flat torque curve and will also prove to be extremelyreliable. Jawa's third ravishing Bobber-style bike called Perak was unveiled but it will be launched later at Rs. 1.89 lakh. This bike will be powered by a larger 334cc liquid cooled single cylinder motor. The Mahindra Group owns 60 percent stake in Classic Legends and there are other two partners including Boman Irani and Anupam Thareja. Boman Irani, son of Rustom Irani, was one of the founders of Ideal Jawa, the brand under which Jawas were sold in India originally in the 1960s and '70s and Anupam Thareja is a research analyst apart from having worked at Royal Enfield previously.
