After a long period of anticipation, Jawa Motorcycles has finally opened its curtains to three of its new models in India. The all new Jawa range now consists of a Classic, Sport and Bobber model, thanks to Classic Legends, a Mahindra & Mahindra subsidiary.
The Classic version, called Jawa, has a price tag of Rs 1.64 lakh (ex-Delhi), and has a very retro vibe. The firm has worked on making the bike look as close to the original as possible. It comes with large mudguards that covers most of the spoked wheels, a two-tone fuel tank with lots of chrome accents and an airbox that’s shaped like the one on the original Jawa 350.
The Jawa 42 is priced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-Delhi), features a flatter set of handlebars for a sportier riding stance. The Jawa 42 comes with blacked out front forks, an offset intrument cosole and a round halogen headlamp.
The Jawa and Jawa 42 comes with the same 293cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor designed by Classic Legends. It is all set to produce 27PS of power and 28Nm of torque.
Apart from that, Jawa also showcased a factory custom called the Perak, a Bobber style version with a price tag of Rs 1.89 lakh ex-Delhi. The Perak features a bigger displacement 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylider DOHC engine that is capable of delivering an output of 30.4PS and 31Nm.
Bookings can be done on the firm’s website for the Jawa and Jawa 42 for now. The Perak will only be available later on.
