Jawa exhaust note sounds way more aggressive without DB killers

Changing the exhaust note of the Jawa and the Jawa 42 motorcycles are easy and you can even do it yourself with basic tools.

This is not an unknown fact anymore that Jawa has started the deliveries of the Jawa and Jawa 42 motorcycles from the last week of Match 2019 onward. After waiting for almost five months the buyers from different cities across the country have finally started receiving the deliveries of their motorcycles.

That said, recently a new video of a Jawa classic has emerged on the internet where you can watch the owner modified the motorcycle’s exhaust for a more bass-ier and aggressive sound. If you watch the video closely you will realize that this retro-styled motorcycle’s modified exhaust note surely has improved the thumping of the motorcycle.

The interesting thing about the Jawa motorcycles is that the owners do not have to replace the entire exhaust system to make their motorcycle sound aggressive which is the case for Royal Enfield motorcycles. So it is easier and less expensive to make the Jawa motorcycles sound more aggressive than its rivals.

In this video, you can watch the mechanic removes the baffle also known as the DB (decibel killer) killer with basic tools and repositioned them inside the exhaust pipes to change the exhaust note of the motorcycle. There is no doubt in the fact that this will definitely be the first change that most of the owners will make to their motorcycle after they receive the delivery.

However, what remains to be seen is that whether removing the DB killer will void the warranty of the Jawa motorcycles or not. That said, both the Jawa and the Jawa 42 are sold out till the month of September and Classic Legends dealers will start accepting fresh bookings only after the month of September 2019.

The prices for the Jawa 42 starts from Rs 1.55 Lakh onward whereas the Jawa is priced at around Rs 1.63 Lakh (both prices ex-showroom). Both the motorcycle is powered by the same 293cc, four-stroke, single cylinder unit that makes about 27 Bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Both the Jawa motorcycles feature a single channel ABS as standard but there is also an option of a dual channel ABS.

Hi, I own JAWA 42 bobber I really love this beast so much. I’m very impressed… One question is there… Is there any warranty issue or any kind of issues to remove the db killers of this bike… Or is it okay to remove the db killers? Hope so for your reply
