Mahindra's subsidiary, Classic Legends has re-introduced the iconic Jawa brand in India. The company has launched 3 new bikes - Jawa, Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Perak. Interestinly, Classic Legends will also launch the Yezdi and BSA brands in India. Speaking to media on the sidelines of Jawa launch, Mr Anupan Thareja, Founder Classic Legends confirmed that Yezdi motorcycles are coming soon.

Classic Legends is in talks with Boman Rustom Irani to bring the iconic Yezdi brand under one umbrella. In fact, official website of Yezdi motorcycles has already been live. A possible launch in the second half of 2019 or early 2020 can’t be ignored. While Yezdi’s focus will be more in India, the BSA bikes will target the overseas markets.
Classic Legends hasn't revealed much-details about the Yezdi bikes. It is expected that the new Yezdi could use the Jawa's double-craddle chassis and powertrains. The original Yezdi was powered by a 250cc, 2-stroke engine. The company could also develop a new powertrain on the Mojo's engine.
The new Jawa bikes are powered by a 293cc, single-cylinder BS6 compliant engine. This fuel-injected engine is capable of producing 27bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The Jawa Perak features the bored-out 334cc, single-cylinder engine that offers 30.1bhp of power and 31Nm of torque.
