Jawa Motorcycles has launched its first range of products in India. One of them is the Jawa Forty Two which is a more modern and edgier version of the original motorcycle.
2018 Jawa Forty-Two Price in India: The Forty Two is priced at INR 1,55,000/- (ex-showroom Delhi).
Along with the company has launched the Jawa and also showcased the Jawa Perak bobber which is a factory-made custom motorcycle.
Jawa Motorcycles will be initially beginning their journey with 105 dealers across India out of which 64 dealers will start functioning from 5 December 2018 onwards. Test ride bikes should be available by mid-December while deliveries for the motorcycles are expected to start by early 2019.
The Jawa Forty Two motorcycle while being similar to the Jawa moves away from the classic look to come across as a more bolder and aggressive version of the bike. It comes with bright and bold colour schemes and does away with chrome panels and gets matte black finish instead.
The bodywork is similar to the Jawa but the Forty Two gets some unique touches to make it look more modern. It gets bar end mirrors, off-set speedometer and a different headlight nacelle. The fenders are also tweaked and the tail lamp gets body colour surrounding.
Another major highlight of this motorcycle is the beautiful engine designed in Italy. This motor is a 293 cc single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine and is BS-VI compliant. It produces a power of 27 hp and 28 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and gets twin exhausts.
The motorcycle uses a double cradle frame where the engine serves as a stressed member. Suspension duty is carried out by Telescopic Hydraulic Fork at the front and Gas charged Twin hydraulic shocks at the rear. The bike has a wheelbase of 1369 mm and seat height of 765 mm.
Stopping power comes from a 280mm disc with floating calliper and ABS at the front and a 153 mm drum brake at the rear. The motorcycle runs on 18-inch wheels at front with 90/90 size tyres and 17-inch wheels at the rear with 120/80 size tyres.
